This is an exciting venture for me as I love, love, LOVE stationery!!! (kinda addicted to it).
I’ve also been working and practising my lettering, calligraphy and design work and seeing how I can incorporate my artist flare into my creative process with my clients and on my personal projects. If you have time please check out my shop and I also encourage you to support your local artist. (THEY TRUELY PUT HEART INTO THERE WORK).
I’ve designed NEW wall decor/wall art with black & gold ink (and sometimes with sparkling stones 😉 it’s so much fun.
Some sample of my artwork (I hope you like them) Cheers!!
I really had a hard time, working on designing my logo. I think I’ve changed it three times already. I kept on seeing the imperfection of the design. Maybe I should change this? This doesn’t look right! And it went on for a while (would drive an artist crazy). The last one I designed, which is the one I have now, I truly love it! Not because it’s ‘perfect’ but seeing the imperfection of it and truly embracing the beauty of it all. It got me thinking of ‘life’ itself. Sometimes we want our life to be perfect, and we keep on seeing what we’re not and what we don’t have and getting discouraged of it all. But I want to share with you today…. Your imperfection is what makes YOU! Beautiful and Unique!
As you have heard the saying before “life is a journey” I’m always looking to improve myself in every area of my life. Now there’s a difference in wanting to grow, learn and being a student of life. But when you have given it all ….stop, pause, breath… and move forward!
I finally got to visit a Lavender Farm this summer! A friend of mine, told me about her experience visiting one in the States and how she loved every moment of it. So we talked about visiting one close to us before summer ended. And that’s exactly what we did. The day was gorgeous! We drove north with the car windows down feeling the cool hot breeze, while we enjoyed the beautiful farm landscapes.
The owner was a sweet lady that took us on her golf cart through her property. Rows filled the land where she stopped several times to pick up various French & British lavenders, and explained the difference of each one of them.
At the end of the tour, I found myself at a small store where everything from honey, soap, lotion, body oil and much more were made with the sweet fragrance of lavender. We even tasted coconut and chocolate samples with lavender. YUM!!!
The first snow fall used to be magical but today I woke up, looked outside and emit a long deep breath! I soon realize I would need to start waking up a bit early, clean my car, take time to layer up and give time for slow traffic.
What happened? I grew up?!!
I used to love playing in the snow, go skating or tobogganing and so much more. I just realized I had become too preoccupied with work and school that I didn’t or choose not to see the beauty of it all.
Nothing to be concerned though, it’s just the beginning of winter, I will come around …hopefully, to enjoy winter, maybe even build a snowman. So I shall sing, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
The sweet combination of tea and flowers can grab my attention any time of the day. Sipping an earl grey tea, smelling the sweet fragrance of flowers, and admiring the beauty of it’s creation is a perfect relaxing day for me. I find days are too rushed, our ‘things-to-do’ list seem to get longer, at the end of the day we’re too tired to enjoy life. Now is the time to take a moment of mediation and reflection. To make time to see old friends face to face, to enjoy this moment with maybe a cup of tea and flowers.
The canoe trip at the beautiful Algoniquin Park was a highlight of my summer. The group consisted of 14 people. We journeyed by driving around 3 hours North to our outfitters. When we finally reach to our destination we packed our personal belongings to large waterproof bags that was usually shared by 2 people, foodbags that weight around 140lbs (which I carried and fell flat on my back … more to that story) and equipment bag that had all our tents, sleeping bags..etc.
Apparently I was chosen with my canoe partner to scout the area to find the best place for the team to camp the nights. The first step onto a canoe and paddling into the beautiful lake felt amazing. Finally felt it was summer with its bright sunlight, fresh air and all things beautiful with nature.
Being in the wilderness with great friends was amazing! The first night sleeping in the tent, my body was sore, cold and felt had pain all over my body through canoeing, portage and trying to carry a bag that weight a ton! But surprisingly my body adapted its routine and felt alive and well the second night of our trip.
The beauty, serenity and the stillness of the lake and nature was breathtaking, its something you stare and ponder of how beautiful our planet is and how still so many things to be discovered.
Summer is slowly ending but the experience and memories will last, looking forward for more canoe adventures in the near future
Days can be difficult and somedays it gets even harder and harder to have a glimpse of hope and believe for the present and future. For example like lemons! it can be bitter, sour and an unpleasant taste. But only when the lemon is squeezed mixed with the right ingredients it become a delicious drink for the thirsty soul.
You might have a lemon in front of you but remember its not always going to be like this… ‘this too shall pass’ why not make some lemonade..
